Marine Research Centre (MRC)

It was established by the government in 1979.

Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (HSPN)

It was founded in 1951 and has been instrumental in the creation of most Greek National Parks, Ramsar wetlands, many other protected areas, and has played a leading role in the efforts to protect endangered species.
