Environmental Working Group (EWG) is a research and advocacy nonprofit with expertise in U.S. agriculture. 1 It was founded in 1993 by Ken Cook and Richard Wiles and the mission of the EWG is to use the power of public information to protect public health and environment. EWG conduct research on issues such as chemicals in food and consumer products. It is also advocating and lobbying to replace federal policies that have potential to damage the environment and natural resources, with policies that invest in conservation and sustainable development. The EWG has various projects to protect the public health and promote sustainable development. 2
