Prakriti is a group of young environment development professionals that works in the Himalayan Mountains of India. The group was organized in year 1997 towards increasing environmental concerns in the Himalayan Mountains of India.
Prakriti is officially registered as a non profit organization, which mainly works on capacity building, advocacy and research related aspects.
The focus areas of Prakriti are environmental protection and conservation, whereas its larger interventions are in to water, sanitation, climate change, forest and agriculture sectors.
The vision of the group is to serve as a link between practice, science, policy and decision-making, for sustainable mountain development.
Prakriti group host the Secretariat for Climate Himalaya Initiative and its members are the actively involved in developing the framework and driving the initiative.
The team members of Prakriti were involved in many advocacy, policy, research and advisory related projects and program since 1997, a few are listed here.
