On Saturday April 14th, thousands of concerned citizens around the U.S. will be taking action to let Congress know how strongly they feel about climate change. Graduates of Middlebury College and environmental writer and activist Bill McKibben are the organizing force behind Step It Up 2007 - a campaign to have hundreds of local demonstrations around the country each call on Congress to cut U.S. carbon emissions 80% by 2050. So far, at least 900 demonstrations have been planned over the entire country and they range from a ski down a shrinking glacier in Wyoming
to a human chain in Manhattan showing the possible new shoreline with rising sea levels. To be involved in this historic event, click on the link below to find an action in your area.
